  19. Try ROM Version 6.10 for 1496. An have ROM Version 1.09 for the 2864.

  21. I do not know what, but Zyxel changed something between
  22. 6.10 and 6.11 (6.12) that makes the modem *VERY* noise sensitive.

  29. The 6.10 is still able to connect at that S/N.
  30. I had made the experince that the ROM6.12 etc. does NOT
  31. connect at a SN <= 26db anymore!
  32. (1496E+ to 1496E)
  33. Connecting V.34 (Rockwell) with an 2864D was impossible with that line.
  34. At least i could get some connects to 1496 with the 2864D so i can enter
  35. the #E1 (available only after 6.11ff.) and saw that one
  36. external telefone tax counter reduces the S/N from 29 to 26db...when
  37. plugged in.
  38. Removing the counter makes ROM 6.15 with. BUT that's of cause
  39. at a solution. 26db is not too bad, and ROM 6.10 did make absolutely
  40. stable 16800 connects to 1496E.
